Scilla Elworthy: The road to peace

Scilla’s life’s purpose became evident to her by age 11. Having just been taught how to fire a shotgun by her older brothers, she proceeded to fire a shot at a nest in a tree. As pieces of feathers and sticks fell to the ground, she was overcome by the violence of which she was capable. This moment became a turning point that compelled her to dedicate her life to peace-making. In this clip, Scilla takes us through this journey of self-discovery to her most recent work with armed conflict.
